Starting From the Beginning

As the seniors begin their last few weeks of their final year, they are becoming more nervous, excited and anxious. Many of the students are very eager to begin their lives and move on with their lives outside of the halls of Baldwin High School.

The senior class will be reminiscing on all of the fun and all of the memories they have had the past 12 years with each other. Leaving all of the people you grew up with can be a hard process but the students are glad they have been given the chance to have friendships that they will never forget.

“In fourth grade I was in Mrs. Florance’s class with Jackson and George and that’s when George had just moved to Baldwin and we all just became best buds and still to this day we are best friends and I just remember that’s where it all began,” senior Nevin Dunn said.

Going through school with each other the students have had many accomplishments together along with many failures, but through it all they have continued to build each other up and help everyone achieve their dreams.

“In Ms. Gilbert’s class we had to take a 220 or 250 word vocab quiz and I’m pretty sure every single one of us failed it,” senior Emma Burnett said.

Growing up in a small town, these seniors do not get the chance very often to make new friends. When they do get the chance they take full advantage of it.

“My sophomore year during state wrestling it snowed a bunch so we went up on Tuesday or Wednesday and we stayed at the hotel all week and we got to go to the mall and we got to hang out with a bunch of people and stay at the hotel and it was just a lot of fun memories in one week,” senior Carlyn Cole said.

For some students going through high school has been an eye-opening experience. Many students have had their whole world completely changed as they have figured out who they want to be.

“My most memorable moment from high school is probably when I came out, I mean for me high school shifted then,” senior Alex Daniels said. “That’s when I could divide it into two sections, before and then after and I mean after I came out it didn’t feel like a burden anymore and I left it behind and I felt like I could finally enjoy high school.”
