Welding can be a lot more than a school activity, it can also be a very successful career and that is true for senior Tyler Davis.

“I chose to pursue welding because I am not very interested in a four year college, and welding makes pretty good money,” Davis said.

Davis plans on going to the Missouri Welding Institute to pursue his welding career.

“I am currently enrolled at Missouri Welding Institute, it is a 4 and a half month program that teaches you everything you need to know to become a pipefitter and welder, and will help you get a job before I even graduate,” Davis said.

Welding is a highly sought after trade, welders will often have a high salary.

“The thing i love most about welding is probably that is a very sought after trade skill the have, and is a very useful skill to have,” Davis said.

Welding usually has a high amount of jobs associated with it.

“I don’t know exactly what welding career I will be doing, MWI has a great job placement program,” Davis said.

Davis has been welding for a long time.

“I have been welding since 8th grade,” Davis said “It all started in the 8th grade shop class and I enjoyed it a lot.”
