“I’ve played volleyball since I was eight, I started when I was in third grade and I played at Midwest Juniors. I play high school volleyball from August to October and then club starts in November and we go until April. Then volleyball is throughout the summer as well, we have camps and hopefully Nationals if we make it. I got connected to Brown because my recruiting coach reached out to a lot of schools and then Brown reached out back to her. Then she wanted to get in contact with me when she saw my film. After that we started emailing back and forth and I sent more film throughout the months and I went out there to the camp. I chose Brown because I loved it when I went there and knew it was the best place for me. I just knew I wanted to play there more than the other schools I was talking to. I want to double major in Psychology and Business when I go there. I chose that because I’ve always found that interesting and I’ve always loved my business classes. When I went there I met their setter, a defensive specialist, and one of their incoming freshman outsides. I’ll be either a middle or a right side my freshman year and then a middle my sophomore, junior, and senior year. The rest of the team I’m meeting in November but it was good to meet the three of them. I’m going to go to the camp this summer, but I’m just going to visit in November. I’m just excited for how different it’s going to be than Kansas and just the different level of competition. The reason I chose a school far away is because I’ve always wanted to go out of state. Originally it was California but that just didn’t happen. My first year I’m definitely going to be in the dorms and then most of their students live together off campus in apartments like the upperclassmen so I’ll probably do the same. It’s going to be a lot different. I’m nervous because it is going to be a higher playing level and it’s a lot more competition than what I’ve seen. But I’m also excited because it’s going to push me to do better.”
