As a state champion runner on the Baldwin track team, Isabelle Harvey will be going far to continue her track and academic career as she will be attending the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

“I chose Wyoming for many reasons, but I primarily chose it because they have an excellent program, it gives me the opportunity to run D1 track, and Wyoming is absolutely gorgeous,” Harvey said.

Choosing a college far away is taking a chance and becoming excited to start new adventures while traveling to a new state.

“I am looking forward to pushing myself both academically and athletically at the next level, meeting so many,” she said. “New people, and getting to call Wyoming my new home for the next four years.”

Choosing a job to study in college can be very tricky and complicated due to how many choices you have and what the university has to offer.

“I am majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in biomedical engineering,” said Harvey, who also excelled in the classroom at BHS, earning all A’s and taking many honors and advanced classes.

Although going far away and starting new adventures is exciting, leaving your home is difficult to do when your family and friends are back home.

“I am going to miss home for sure, however, I am so excited to begin this next chapter of my life and make so many new memories,” Harvey said.

“Her leadership and her determination has been a huge asset in our team, and shows everyone that hard work pays off,” track and cross country coach Mike Spielman said.
