New Hunger Games will be in theaters soon

“The Hunger Games” series has set box office records making over $409 million. On Nov. 21, “The Hunger Games” series is hitting movie theaters with its new movie “Mockingjay, Part 1.” The movie will be split into two parts.

Some of the students at Baldwin High School are getting excited for the new movie. For junior Ashleigh Kramps, she can’t wait for the movie to hit theaters.

“Oh God, I absolutely love the Hunger Game series,” Kramps said. “I have been following the movies before ever since Catching Fire came out.”

Kramps has also read the books multiple times.

“I think I have read all the books about six times,” Kramps said. “I never get tired of them, and I am not ashamed of it.”

There are multiple characters in the books, for Kramps it was really hard for her to pick out her favorite characters.

“ I would say some of my favorite characters would be Finnick because he is really good looking who wouldn’t pick him as one their favorite characters, Peeta because I like how he treats Katniss,” Kramps said. “Johanna because she isn’t afraid to put up a fight, and of course Katniss because she is the main character and is just a strong, independent women,”

Junior Emily Jardon is counting down to when “Mockingjay” hits theaters.

“I have a countdown on my phone,” Jardon said. “25 more days to go.”

A friend of Jardon’s got her into the books

“My friend lent me her books, and I just got hooked right away,” Jardon said. “My parents got me the whole series for Christmas, so I have read all three books about two times.”

Jardon also has her favorite pick of characters.

“My favorite characters would Finnick because he has the looks and the body, and Peeta because he is my life,” Jardon said.
