Baldwin High School Concert Choir has a semester full of concerts and various performances.

This year there are plenty of new faces in Concert Choir, including sophomore Campbell Lund.

“It is my first year in Concert Choir and my third year in choir in total, and I am excited by the people I have met,” Lund said.

This is also the first year some freshmen are allowed in Concert Choir.

“I am excited because now the freshman in choir give it a bit more diversity. I think it is good to have all grade levels in Concert Choir,” Lund said.

This will be the last year in choir for some, including senior Kayla Mountain.

I love being a senior in choir, especially since choir is my favorite class. You have to step up and be a leader and I like the challenge,” Mountain said.

While choir is hard work, the seniors are excited for their last year in choir.

“I am excited to be a senior in choir, I think it is very fun so far because I love singing and my skill level has improved. I get to help out other choir members,” Mountain said.

Concert Choir is preparing for the fall concert. It will feature all 3 high school choirs.

“The fall concert is always my favorite because of the unlimited types of music we can sing,” choir teacher Erin Buffum said. “Unlike winter concerts, Starstruck, and contest season, we aren’t limited by the season or theme of the concert.  There’s a lot of variety!” choir teacher Erin Buffum said.

After the fall concert, the choir’s schedule is packed all throughout the semester.

“We will sing the National Anthem at several events, and will have a winter concert in December.  A capella is participating in the Ottawa University Choral Invitational. Several students are preparing to audition for district and State Choir as well.” Buffum said.

The fall concert is on Oct 9 and will be in the PAC.
