The effects of the iPad of Baldwin High School has been a mixed one from the students. Some of the students believe that the iPad has not been used for educational uses only.

“About 70% of the iPads get used for school work and school education uses but that percentage varies from student to student,” sophomore student Garrett Hundley said.

The percentage of educational uses of the iPads can differ mainly because the student body has different opinions about the iPads.

“I believe that 45 to 50% of students use the iPads for education uses,” junior John Matthews said.

Some students think that the iPad is a very helpful tool in school but there are always pros and cons of a situation.

“It gets rid of some of the paperwork and bulk of books but it does cause an annoyance when the internet goes down and you can’t get your work done,” Hundley said

The iPads have specific apps for educational uses like My Big Campus and Notability.

“There are some apps that help with school but there are others that are just a hindrance,” Matthews said.

Although some students feel like if the teachers don’t use the iPads often then they will become useless to the school as a whole.

“I feel like they have a good chance of being educationally useful but if the teachers don’t start using they in our daily routine then they will become useless,” sophomore George Letner said.

The iPads can be a very helpful tool for school but it will take both the students and teachers effort for it to be.
