As the first semester comes to an end the seniors at Baldwin High School are getting anxious. Seniors are filling with different emotions as they plan their futures. As some will head off to college and some will go straight into the workforce.

“I am very excited but also very sad,” Riley O’Rourke said. “Saying goodbye to all my friends will be very hard but I’m very excited to see what college holds for me.”

Lots of seniors will be heading off to college. All together there is a variety of schools the seniors are looking into. Some students even plan to take on the challenge of playing sports in college.

“I plan to go to college, preferably Morningside or Central and play baseball while continuing my education,” Adam Carlson said.

Others plan to just take on the normal college life and see what that has to hold for them

“I am very excited to see what college has in store for me. I am looking forward to all the new opportunities,” David Wallace said.

Though they are excited to go off on their own, seniors have a lot of things they will miss. After leaving BHS they won’t get to see the same people everyday and won’t have all their friends just down the hall.

“I will miss the people of BHS,” Taylor Cawley said. “And all the different personalities from the students to the teachers and the connections I’ve made with both.”

Though they are leaving all of their friends, they will leave with the life long memories made. Whether it is memories made in school or sports each and every one of them have their own special memory.

“My favorite memories are my sophomore getting second at state in volleyball, my junior year playing basketball against De Soto when Taylor hit a buzzer beater game winning 3 pointer,” O’Rourke said. “And my junior year beating Paola at home in overtime for the first time in a long time.”
Though senior year is almost half over they have made lots of memories. They are filling with even more emotion and are excited to start the new chapter of their lives.
