A finals tradition, Cram and Cocoa

Cram and Cocoa is a Baldwin High School tradition for kids to stay after school, study for finals with help from other students, and drink all the hot chocolate they can think of.

“I got a lot done,” Sophomore Kaydawn Bonecutter said. “I got help from upperclassmen on subjects I wasn’t too good at and help from my teachers. It is a great way to get help from people who know what they are doing.”

The purpose of Cram and Cocoa is to provide a positive environment for kids to study for finals with help from teachers and students. Cram and Cocoa is organized each year by the link program.

“I’ve been going to cram and cocoa since freshmen year,” Senior Wyatt Slavin said, “and I’ve found it very helpful for studying for finals. Each year we have been improving how we run it and how many people we get there to run it, so I’m hoping that this year it turns out better.”

Cram and Cocoa is in the BHS cafeteria. Some tables will have cards on them, stating that they are for a certain subject only, such as Biology. That way you can study with other people who are preparing for the same subject as you are.

Most of the people who attended last year benefited from the experience and suggest it to anybody that hasn’t gone.

“It helped a lot last year,” Bonecutter said,. “It’ll help this year, too.”

Cram and cocoa is 3-5 p.m. Dec. 16 and 17 in the BHS cafeteria.
