Graduation approaching for 99 seniors

The end of the year is right around the corner and just like every year, BHS has many seniors who are ready to begin their lives outside of high school. The seniors’ last day is May 13.

This year, there are 99 students expected to graduate. This is when all of their hard work and determination pays off, receiving their diploma on the main stage and being cast out into the world where they will take the skills they have acquired to make something of themselves. The graduation ceremony will take place May 17 in the BJHS gymnasium with the awards ceremony happening the day prior on May 16.

“It’s really scary [graduating from high school] because because I’m going to Florida for college so it is going to be totally different. Not just the environment, but the people too,” senior Mickayla Starkey said. “It is weird walking around the halls and seeing everyone, knowing I’m not going to see them next year.”

“I am kind of looking forward to graduation right now, this year has flown by,” senior Ian Kirk said. “I am going to college and major in theater and minor in music then take some classes to see about becoming an athletic trainer.”

This year’s seniors have huge plans for post high school but they would not be in the position they are in now if they had not put in the hard work and effort over the years.

“Work hard, it’s worth it,” senior Tucker Clark said.

The guest speaker at the ceremony is currently undecided but will be announced at a later date.

The time has come when these students set out and make a name for themselves in the world.
