Country triumphs over city in a survey at BHS

Baldwin High School students voted living in the country over city in a survey of 51 students. The options were; I live in the city and I love it, I live in the country and I love it, I live in the city but I would rather live in the country, I live in the country but I would rather live in the city and I don’t really care.

The survey was handed out to a total of 51 students. The top vote was; “I live in the country and I love it,” with a total of eighteen votes. The second most popular was; “I live in the city but I would rather live in the country,” with a total of thirteen votes. So either way, country was the most popular over all.

“You have more freedom in the country, and it’s quieter, not everyone is crammed together, there’s more space,” sophomore Erin Voigts said.

Even though the city was not quite as popular, some students still enjoy it.

“I like being within walking distance of all of the activities that are available by living in the city. It opens you to more social opportunities,” sophomore Josie Malec said.

On the other hand, some students could call any place home.

“Basically I don’t really care if I live in the country or the city because I like the quietness of the country and the business of the city,” sophomore Josie Gilliland said.

Living in the country was the most popular vote but some people enjoy the country but do not actually live there.

“I live in the city but I would rather live in the country because there is more freedom in the country,” sophomore Kinley Burton said.
