Children in the United States go through 13 years of schooling with an average of 1 to 7 teachers per year. This comes out to about 55 to 90 teachers throughout a single child’s K-12 experience.
Teachers have the biggest impact on students because they encourage them to learn effectively while making their classroom a safe environment. Many students can name the teacher that affected them the most.
While students have stress from school, they also have stress from other aspects of their lives. Plenty of teachers recognize this and make sure children know that they are an outlet to talk to.
According to Studies Weekly, 88 percent of people report a positive impact by teachers and 98 percent agree that good teachers can ultimately change a student’s life for the better.
Teachers contribute to brain growth and healthy school relationships. While many students can receive validation from their parents, some children find that approval from teachers is more helpful.
