As the end of the school year rolls around, the spring play is one of the last big events. This year, the play was Clue, based on the popular board game. Sophomore Elliet Morton played Mrs White, the tragic widow with 5 ex husbands who all died from “mysterious” circumstances.
“Clue is about 6 guests who get invited to a huge mansion by a Mr Boddy. After Mr Boddy gets murdered, the 6 guests spend the evening trying to figure out whodunit,” Morton said.
The group had rehearsal every day (except Friday) from 4pm to 7pm. The long hours leading up to the night of the show paid off for everyone.
“I enjoyed getting to express myself as Mrs White,” Morton said. “It was difficult to understand her at first, but once I figured it out she was really fun to play.”
Morton had a great time with her friends during rehearsals. While she is a wonderful actor, everyone gets discouraged. Her friends were the ones who helped her build that confidence.
“I also enjoyed getting to work with so many talented actors and build a sense of community during rehearsals,” Morton said.
The play ended up being a wonderful experience for everyone involved and will be a memory they carry with them forever.
