Senior Maddie Maddox has an intense passion for music. Maddox has been interested in music all her life and decided to pursue her dream in her younger years.
“I played clarinet from 5th grade through sophomore year before switching to Bari Sax for my junior and senior years,” Maddox said. “I still play clarinet at football and basketball games.”
The clarinet is a woodwind instrument with a warm and soft sound.
“I love everything about making music with my friends but I especially love the bond it creates between the members in the band,” Maddox said.
Her favorite part about band is playing fun music with her best friends while competing in local and state competitions.
“My favorite part about choir is learning new music, exploring composers, and digging into the story behind each song,” Maddox said.
The first musical extracurricular she participated in was in fourth grade.
“I joined because I love Miss Jacobsen and I love singing,” Maddox said.
“Ever since I was little, I’ve always had the strongest passion for music,” Maddox said. “My favorite song I’ve sang was either ‘Earth Song’ by Frank Ticheli or ‘Suliko’ arranged by Brent Wells.”
