Q: How long have you taught at BHS?
“This is the end of my 9th year at BHS.”
Q: How long have you been the boys and girls tennis coach?
“I’ve been the head coach of the boys team for 8 years, and the girls team for 6 years. I was an assistant coach for the boys for 1 year before I became the head coach.’’
Q: What got you to take the position as the tennis coach?
“The head coach of the boys team before me was Ms. Weaver’s dad, who had coached the Baker men’s basketball team for a long time. He had taken the position because he didn’t want the school to drop the program, though he didn’t know anything about tennis. I was hired the same year as Ms. Weaver and during our training, I mentioned I played tennis for some reason. She told her dad and a few months later, he came and asked me to be the assistant…he said he’d drive them and I’d teach them tennis. A year later, he resigned and gave me the head coach position.’’
Q: What classes do you teach at BHS?
“Physics, Integrated Science, Environmental Science and Robotics.’’
Q: Do you play tennis outside of being the coach?
‘’I do not anymore but I have in the past.’’
