The dangers of praise

The dangers of praise

Every generation is getting more and more awards for practically nothing. Those children who grew up getting praised for participating find out that not everything they do deserves praise. And that is a tough transition.

Going from being praised for every little thing to getting almost no praise unless you do something huge is a very demolishing thing to a child’s development and leads to lack of interest. With everything you do you get praised you’re probably going to want to finish all the assignments and all the projects and participate. But later if you’re getting pretty much nothing by finishing assignments or projects you won’t have as much motivation.

Praising children for everything they do should be toned down a whole lot, so it doesn’t deceive them as they grow and get to high school and college.
