The winter sports season is now over, and it’s time for a recap

Girls varsity basketball Coach Bob Martin is extremely proud of this years’ results.

“We played our hearts out. Every single day, we hit the court with the same intention, which was to get better. And we did, as a team. Our record was astounding, our players were amazing, and our basketball was both of those,” he said.

Varsity girls basketball was by a long shot the most successful sport this year. They had an astounding record of 24-1, which they attained while placing 1st at state.

Head boys basketball coach Paul Musselman was happy with the team’s skill level, as well as the effort.

“The seven seniors as a group, Kade Kehl, and Jayce Dighans who led us in scoring were the main chunk of our points,” Musselman said. “There was more talent on the team than our results showed, There were times when we just needed to play better as a unit. In games where we hustled and enjoyed the game, we did well.”

This 2018 season the boys varsity basketball squad had a record of 8-13, which though a losing record, is the best boys record that BHS has had since Musselman started coaching.

Wrestling coach Kit Harris was happy about the work ethic of his team. They had a 14-8 dual record, had four qualify for state, and placed 4th at leagues.

“The number of kids we have in the weightroom year round, hitting the mats, is impressive,” Harris said. “It contributes a lot to our success. In fact, it was a great season, everyone on our team pushed themselves as far as they could. There’s nothing we’re disappointed about.”
