Q&A:  New special effects to help while preparing for upcoming musical

Lighting and special effects coordinator Kyle Richardson has been hired to help with the upcoming Fall musical “Guys and Dolls,” which will be performed at 7 p.m. Nov. 21 and 22 in the Performing Arts Center.

Q: How old are you?

  • A:  I am 23.

Q: Where are you from?

  • A:  near Osawatomie.

Q: Have you studied audio and special effects before?

  • A: Yup, six years at Baker University.

Q: Is this your first time doing a musical with a school before?

  • A: I’ve done some tech stuff with my high school, but this is my first time being in charge of something like this.

Q: How many have you done?

  • A: 5 counting this one

Q: What do you like about doing special effects for school musicals?

A: I don’t know, I just like making people look good and this is the best way to do it.

Q: How do you think this show is going?

  • A: Fantastic, we have some great new things in store for this show.

Q: What’s unique about this show?

  • A: The cast, I’ve never worked with a cast so big and with so much personality, it’s definitely going to be a great show.
