Since fall sports seasons have come to an end, many teams are looking back and reflecting on their seasons. One of those teams is the girls tennis team.

This year, girls tennis had 15 girls, which is a much bigger team compared to the 6 they had last year.

“It was a lot more fun with more girls,” sophomore Ella Ward said.

Last year, Ward was the only freshman on the team.

“The team dinners are more fun, and we got t-shirts this year. Last year we didn’t have t-shirts because we didn’t have funding.” Ward said.

The last tennis tournament Baldwin went to was on Oct. 8th. Seniors Makayla Hirschmann and Audrey Darnell were some of Baldwin’s top players.

Many girls tried tennis for the first time, including junior Lilli Judy.

“I wanted to try something new,” Judy said. “I played volleyball before, and I lost interest in it, and the tennis season is at the same time as volleyball.”

Next year, the girls tennis team hopes to continue to grow and improve.
