Having one sibling on the same team is awesome, but having two is even cooler. Very few people can say that they have two other siblings on the same team. For senior Trysten Heck, sophomore Kivryen Heck and freshman Brayden Heck, this is a reality. They all play football on the same Bulldog team.

“It’s a really special moment to play with both of my brothers because we all played since we were young.” Brayden said. “It is honestly a dream come true that all three of us get to be on the field for one last year. One of my brothers is a senior. I know that it is important to him so trying to make the best of it. It’s a real fun experience being able to talk to both of them while all enjoying what we do.”

Trysten believes it’s an honor to play with his brothers.

“It’s really cool, it’s kind of an honor. I think not a lot of people can say that. They can play with two of their brothers on the same team all in the same year,” Trysten said. “Definitely makes it more fun to play football knowing that two of your younger brothers are playing and you get to teach them and guide them and teach them the game of football.”

Coach Jesse Austin has coached the Heck brothers since they were freshmen. He has seen them improve as players and as people.

“For the last three or four years I had the opportunity to coach a Heck period, it has been pretty awesome. They are coachable kids, they work hard, and come to practice with a positive attitude which is refreshing.” Austin said. “Especially when you get three of them on the team, they make even more of an impact because there is more of them there. That was especially needed and useful after the long hard season we had. We need some more guys like that out there. Long story short it is fun, they are enjoyable kids to coach and we need more kids like them.”

Kivryen enjoys spending time with his brothers and had a lot of fun this season.

“It’s pretty fantastic.” Kivryen said. “It’s just different you don’t really see three brothers playing football or any sport together and it is a lot of fun. We cherished a lot of moments this year even though we didn’t have the greatest record. I enjoy it a lot. You can’t get it back and I am just trying to have the most fun out of it.”

Fellow athlete Noah Potter also enjoys playing with the Heck brothers.

“I think it is pretty cool to have three brothers on the same team playing together. It is pretty fun to see them play around with each other and stuff like that,” Potter said.

The Heck brothers have enjoyed playing football this year with each other. But they are all looking to the future as well. They all hope to pursue football in college.

“I would like to… just any sport between basketball and football, that would be great. That would pay for most of my college,” Kivryen said.

“Yes, it’s my dream I would be an honor to play after high school, I would love it. I am sure my brothers would feel the same way,” Trysten said.

The brothers had a lot of fun this season. Trysten is moving to college after this year. Kivryen and Brayden will continue the Heck legacy at BHS.
