The BHS soccer team is off to a great start to their season so far. They are 4-1 and still have about 11 games to play throughout this season.

Last year the Bulldog soccer team had a pretty successful season and went 12-6-1.

Sophomore Michael Garber said the team’s main goal for this season is to “make it back to state, we would like to win regionals again like we did last year.”

The win in the regionals was a very memorable moment in fact a lot of the players will always remember that win and are able to say they’ve played in the state championship.

“Beating Eudora in the regional championship,” senior Jordan Barth said, of his most memorable moment.

Soccer is a very high intensity sport and you have to always have your head on a swivel but there is a fun side to all sports.

“Hanging out with the rest of the team and bonding with teammates and making new friends is the best part about soccer. We all have a big role on the field and all have to do our job in order to win,” Garber said.

The BHS soccer team is very well coached and have 7 returning seniors for season and are coached by head coach Matt McCune.

The team for this season has a lot of strengths and can definitely make it far in the playoffs.

“We have a very experienced group of upperclassmen and some very talented underclassmen,” Barth said.

A strong statement to how the season will be and what the future will look like for the Baldwin Bulldog soccer team.
