SIDELINE SPORTS: Coaching Carousel

Controversy is turning up in the NFL. Coaches are moving, injuries are taking over, and predictions need to be made. This off season might be one of the most active offseason in the past couple years.

The coaching carousel has ended and the season will start with five coaches on new teams. Andy Reid is now coaching the Kansas City Chiefs, Marc Trestmen is with the Chicago Bears, Mike McCoy with the San Diego Chargers, Chip Kelly with the Philadelphia Eagles and Bruce Arians with the Arizona Cardinals.

All of these jobs were pretty easy fits for each coach. The only big shock was Kelly, the former University of Oregon head coach fresh off a Fiesta Bowl victory over Kansas State University. Kelly originally rejected the job in Philadelphia but then later reconsider the option of moving up from the college game and decide to take his shot this year. His fast pace system from Oregon will be a new system in the NFL but he has one of the most athletic quarterbacks in the history of the game Michael Vick. Vick has been confirmed to start week one against the Washington Redskins.

The injury bug has returned to training camps, but also players are making remarkable comebacks. The biggest one is Robert Griffin III, suffering a damaged ACL that needed surgery. The estimated time of recovery is a year, but just like Adrian Peterson in the previous year it took him only eight months to fully recover and he is ready for week one.

Both the  AFC and NFC will both be strong as always with powerhouse teams on both sides of the NFL. My Super Bowl predictions are the New Orleans Saints vs. the Denver Broncos with the Saints winning it all in the end.

Sean Payton returns to the sidelines for Saints after being suspended for a year. I believe he will have a huge impact on quarterback Drew Brees and the rest of that offense. Rob Ryan will come back as the Defensive Coordinator after a weak season on the defensive side of the ball. Ryan looks to improve the defense all around.

Denver will be lead again by Peyton Manning the All-Pro quarterback, with the addition of Wes Welker at receiver. Manning has the potential to throw a thousand yards to three different receivers. The strong defense will be back. The loss of Elvis Dumervil and the suspension of Von Miller will hurt, but they will still be strong with the leadership of Champ Bailey.
