The Detroit Tigers are set to battle The San Francisco Giants in the 2012 MLB World Series. These two teams have fought through thick and thin to get where they are now and all their hard work pays off now.

The Tigers have won the American League pennant, Detroit battled a red hot Oakland Athletics team that battled to win the division in the closing games of the season. The Tigers won on the series in game 5 of ALDS to clinch a spot in the ALCS vs. The Yankees. Detroit won the series in four straight games to take their spot as rightful champions of the American League.

San Francisco battled through a much tougher road. The Giants went through the NLDS playing a very solid pitching staff in the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds took a two to nothing lead in the series which put San Francisco in a very tight spot but they battled back to win the next three games to win the best of five series. They earned their spot in the NLCS where they would meet the St Louis Cardinals.

These two teams battled all series long it came down to a game 7 where veteran pitcher Matt Cain was going to make his first game 7 start of his life. He shut down the Cardinals lineup holding them to no runs scored in the game giving the Giants their second trip to the world series in three years.

These two amazing stories will meet in at 7 p.m.on Wednesday, Oct 24, at San Francisco.

I predict that this series will end at game 6 with the Tigers winning the World Series. With the strong bats of the Tigers led by the Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera there is no way they are going to let another championship slip away like in 2006.
