Super Fans at BHS are gearing up for the winter sports season tonight as the boys and girls basketball teams kick off their seasons. Games will start at 4:30 in the BHS and BJHS gyms with both varsity games being played at the BJHS gym to bring the night to an end.
Super Fans will be out in full force tonight with a “Black Out” theme, with fans wearing all black clothing. Students enjoy the experience of being a Super Fan.
“I enjoy being a Super Fan because it brings everyone together and promotes school spirit and the players,” senior Alison Berg said.
The players also enjoy the atmosphere the Super Fans create in the student section.
“I think that they help the other student get involved in the game,” junior basketball player Caleb Gaylord said. “It gets everyone crazy and pumped up.”
While being a Super Fan is about having fun and supporting the BHS sports teams it is important to keep in mind that there are still rules to follow.
“We need to follow KSHAA rules,”Activities Director Gary Stevanus said. “You must always be cheering positively and nothing negative towards the other team. We want the students to have fun but be classy, too.”
