Out of all of her choices that BHS senior Paris Nottingham had, she chose Oklahoma State University to pursue her equestrian competitions.

“I was being recruited for the Oklahoma State Equestrain team,” Nottingham said. “My brother went there for college. I was down there a lot, and I really liked the school.”

Nottingham began riding when she was about three years old and has moved her way up to showing about 20 shows, nationally a year. At OSU she will ride on the western team and will show in horsemanship.

“Riding is all about being a team with horse. It’s a challenge and it’s so rewarding,” Nottingham said.

Nottingham is going to study Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Her family has been with her through the entire process.

“My parents are very excited,” Nottingham said. “They’re sad about me leaving but very supportive.”
