“I have been showing pigs since I could walk, but I have been competitively showing pigs since about 6 years ago. This year I show 5 different pigs, 2 chesters, a light cross and a dark cross. I like showing pigs because of the community that surrounds it. I also love animals and being able to bond with them. My favorite part of showing is winning after months and months of hard work. Around April I go to one or two shows every weekend until about July then I show once or twice a month at bigger/national shows. The farthest I have traveled for a show is to Nebraska for a national show called Aksarben. It depends on the judge and how my pigs look that day, but at the average show I will place in the grand drive and get call backs in showmanship. Just this last weekend was my first time winning a prospect show at the Flint Hills Showdown, with my light cross gilt, stormi.”
