Fast Food Related Health Concerns

The National Center for Health Statistics did a survey that about 84.8 million adults eat fast food every day . That’s 36.6% of adults in America. Most Americans eat at fast food restaurants 1-3 times a week.

As I am a very busy person, eating at fast food restaurants is easy and cheap when you are on a road trip or after sports events and you do not have time or energy to sit down at a restaurant or to cook at home.

Nutritionists advise you to never eat fast food but in this day and age it is unrealistic. Some might argue that eating fast food will make you obese but the documentrey Super Size Me, is about a guy who eats McDonald’s for 30 days, 3 meals a day and he 25 pounds. Which after eating McDonalds for every meal for a month straight, still did not make him obese. Fast food is not a main key to obesity. Obesity is caused by eating too much and moving too little according to NHS Inform.

Fast food chains provide jobs to people without school degrees. They have food at cheaper prices for those who can’t spend a lot on food. It saves time and energy when you are in a rush. There are also healthy fast food choices out there according to Ittana.

As a frequent fast food eater, I have never had health issues due to fast food. McDonald’s stated in a document,

“A matter of common knowledge that any processing that its fast food undergoes serves to make them more harmful than unprocessed foods.”

Fast food only changes our structure in society if you let it. Fast food is only harmful if you let it be.
