OPINION: Hunting for answers

Why wouldn’t hunting be a good thing? If you can think of a good reason tell, me. In my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons.

Hunting is instinctive and is part of every animal’s basic function, humans included. And what’s wrong if we use guns or bows or even traps? Some would say that it is cruel and inhumane. They might also say that hunters are just out to kill something. These traits are more like poachers than hunters.

It is very important to understand the differences between hunting and poaching. Poachers do it all to get their kicks and to get the biggest animal they can. The also hunt out of season, usd smaller calibers than they should at least for deer. Most people that do hunt and everyone that I know that does follow the rules. Just because there are these few idiots out there that do these things does not mean that it should be reflected upon the rest of us.

Hunting is a good thing and is humane. It teaches conservation. Which means that we only take what we need or what the limit is and never go over, so that the animal population is stable. If there is an over population, then the limit can be increased so the population of the species can be brought down. Hunting is humane because the animal dies relatively quickly because of the types of arrow tips used and the size of calibers used. And there are regulations on the size of caliber you can use because if it is too small it will only wound the deer. Most people follow these rules. Hunting can teach gun responsibility, such as how to properly handle a gun, know your line of sight, and how to load and unload the gun without discharging it. Hunting also gives you a hobby and gets you out of the house. And you get quality food from it. None of these animals have anything pumped into them or are genetically altered.

So all in all the pros of hunting definitely outweigh cons, which I do not think there are any.  Please feel free to tell me the last time you had quality meat that was not from the store or when you had a hobby that taught you gun responsibility and even control how hunting is done right.
