Like all other fruits, berries are full of numerous health benefits. In just a small serving they have the potential to help fight cancer, weight loss (healthy), prevent Alzheimer’s, reduce blood pressure, improve heart health, keep the mind fresh and potentially prevent Parkinson’s. With all these great things berries can do why not eat them?
With age comes a deterioration of certain functions, in some cases the mind. According to Annals of Neurology, “Women who eat about two servings of strawberries or one serving of blueberries a week experienced less mental decline.” This is great news to hear, especially for those who may have a family history of mental decline of some sort.
For those who have a sweet tooth, don’t grab unhealthy processed foods, grab some berries. They have plenty of natural sugars that can help cure that craving and help your health. For those who can not eat berries plain, here is a smoothie recipe that could help add some flavor.
