Snapchat is a fun app used by teens all across America with virtually no consequences due to its timed pictures allowance, or so it seems. Most teenagers use this app as a fun way to send picture of funny goofy faces back and forth with their friends but many use this app for another purpose.
It is no secret to anyone that snapchat has another purpose entirely, in which it is used inappropriately. Not everyone uses it this way, but more than teens do than people would assume.
Why this app appears to be consequence-free in the eyes of teens, I do not understand. Like any other app it can snapchats can be saved through screenshots and various other means.
If these inappropriate pictures got into the wrong hands it could be potentially damaging to the person. Teens who share inappropriate pictures are being charged with fines up to a thousand dollars and potential jail time of a year.
I believe that sending these picture is just too risky for teenagers. It can be extremely harmful to a bright future. Snapchat is a fun app if used the right way, just be careful what is being sent and between who.
