YouTube is no longer just a website for family and friends to share videos with each other, or a site just for entertainment. While it still achieves all of those things, it is now also place where people can actually become famous. YouTube videos make worldwide headlines on a daily basis.

We all know the classic videos such as “Charlie bit my finger” and  “David after the Dentist.” Both of these videos made the headlines and were viewed by millions. Popular videos like these are often followed by interviews on talk shows and copycat videos as well. this gains a fast track to the “spotlight.”

People also post videos on a daily weekly or monthly basis and acquire subscribers. One famous name that is popular now is Jenna Marbles. She posts videos every Wednesday and has millions of viewers.

Others even start their career by posting a simple video on YouTube.  One of the biggest names to become famous from YouTube may be singer Justin Bieber. He started his career by posting a video of himself singing “With You” By Chris Brown and was discovered by Scooter Braun.  From there his career was started.

YouTube is empowering individuals to either follow their dream career or just post goofy videos for a quick laugh.
