At Baldwin High School, students are fortunate enough to be able to attend a study abroad trip with either the French or Spanish class. Both of these trips would be the trips of a lifetime offering new experiences and a chance to fully practice the languages of the culture.
Learning a new language is a very difficult thing to do for most people and going into the country of which study would make it that much easier. Traveling to a foreign country will force someone to speak the language with a native speaker, therefore making them better and build confidence. Viewing firsthand how the language is used will also help with their own pronunciation of the language.
Reading about a country in class is one thing but going to that country and being able to discover everything it has to offer is another. Tasting the food and the real food not the American version of the food, would be something special all to itself. Seeing the culture and style of culture rather than the stereotypes portrayed.
Studying abroad is a great way to expand horizons and get out of someone out of their comfort zone. Being in a new world and learning new things but in a fun way and hands on.
