The Environmental Club allows for students to get together and help participate in keeping the environment clean and picked up.
“Environmental Club is a group of students who are interested in cleaning the Earth and making the environment better,” senior vice president Dan Welch said.
This allows for students to learn how to keep the environment clean and work on their social skills with others who care about keeping our community clean.
“Environmental Club allows for us to spend time together and spend time with the environment,” senior president Ali Peterson said.
Peterson has been in the club since freshman year, which has allowed her to really understand what it’s about. It is able to increase herself and other students’ knowledge on the environment, along with allowing them to just spend time with nature.
“I really enjoy spending time with the people and going on all the fun little trips we go on,” Peterson said.
In the spring, they plan to elect new officers, along with planting the plants into the pots in front of the school. They also want to work on the recycling program and advance it so less and getting thrown away and more is recycled.
“I want to see and do more for the recycling at BHS and go help out with the community garden like past years, along with hikes once it gets warmer and trash clean ups,” Welch said.
Due to the upcoming spring and nice weather, this will allow many more possibilities to open up which lets members get outside to keep the community clean and friendly.
