The Baldwin High School golf team has had a strong season, they all did great and finished the season strong. The golf team is also a pretty young team with many freshman and sophomores
While all of the golf players had great seasons many of their favorite parts are the team dinners which help them bond and also have amazing food.
“My favorite part of the season was probably the team dinners because of all the good food and the time I got to bond with my teammates,” freshman Maddox Madl said.
For many people their freshman year of any sport can be kind of frightening but for Madl he had fun and did amazing.
“My first year was very good, it wasn’t too hard and I played good enough to make varsity my first year of high school golf,” Madl said.
The golfers had a very good season and plan to do it again next year.
“Compared to other teams we were about average, but compared to last year we had a great season considering last year we got last in every single tournament,” sophomore Jett Good said.
The golf team has played at many courses throughout the year but one of them stands out the most to Madl.
“My favorite course of the year was definitely Sycamore Ridge, I liked it because it is in the top 7 of the nicest courses in Kansas and it is just in general a beautiful course,” Madl said.
There are many reasons why people play golf whether it be them just wanting to try out the sport or it’s their passion.
“I decided to play golf this year because I started playing last year pretty often, I also started to get pretty good at golf and wanted to see if I could be really good in the sport,” Madl said.
The Sycamore Ridge course was awesome to play at according to Good.
“My favorite part of the season was going to Sycamore Ridge,” Good said, “ Not only because it was beautiful we also all played great at the tournament.”
Jesse Wadel also liked how nice the Sycamore Ridge course was and how he played there.
“My favorite part of the season had to be getting to go to the Sycamore Ridge Course for the tournament,” Wadel said. “I liked it there because of how nice the place was and how good our team played.”
