Most adults join a sport when they get older to stay active, up and moving, and for our BHS business teacher Tyler Wolf’s way of doing that is kickball.

“I started playing kickball in 2017 when a friend needed me to fill in for his kickball league in Lawrence and ever since I continued to play in this league every year,” Wolf said.

He started playing kickball just as a fill in for a friend and now this is what he chooses to do in his free time, he has been playing full-time in 2018 for a team sponsored by love garden sounds.

I have traveled with this team to New Orleans, Tampa Bay so far,” Wolf said. “We have upcoming tournaments in Boulder and Las Vegas,” Wolf said.

Playing a sport while traveling to new places seems really fun and exciting.

“I love it. I enjoy traveling with the team and competing all across the country,” Wolf said. “In 2021 I became the captain of the Squids. I just started playing with my traveling team this year. Our traveling team’s name is Bad Astra.”

Wolf has been playing kickball since 2018 and then 3 years later becoming the captain of the kickball team after all the playing and hard work.

“I’ve played so many game I’ve lost count of how many games he has won,” Wolf said. “On my traveling team I am actually a bunter, I am  #2 in the kicking order, In KVKL I am #4 in the kicking order and I am more of a spot kicker. I have kicked a few home runs in the park but never cleared a fence.”

He is on two different kickball teams, one is a traveling team and one is located in Lawrence KS. On top of being a teacher he manages to be the captain of a kickball team while also traveling for kickball.
