There are 7 sets of twins at BHS. Including Audrey and Zach Flowers.

One out of every 30 babies born is a twin in the United States reported by the National Center for Health Statistics. Out of the 400 plus students in the school, there are 7 sets of twins.

“My favorite part about having twin is having someone I can talk to about life and anything because we are the same age and are going through the exact same things,” said senior Audrey Flowers, who has twin brother named Zach.

Twins interact with each other and create an unbreakable bond in the womb, starting at 14 weeks of gestation.

“There is always someone with you to help guide you through tough and easy situations,” said sophomore Cambria Crowe who has a twin sister named Tavia. “It’s nice having a twin because you have an unbreakable bond and a best friend with you all the time.”

In BHS there are a lot of twins that are scholar-athletes. In the sports or academics around BHS you will see more drive and competition between twins than a teammate vs a teammate. A lot of twins around Baldwin also have different interests.

“It’s nice to have someone there to help you out in classes and sports,” said Lane Anderson who has a twin brother named Tate.

“In sports, my sister and I are always trying to beat each other out but it has taught me to have tougher skin and don’t let the little things bother me,” Crowe said.

There are different kinds of love, but they don’t have to compete. Forty percent of twins develop their own language.

“I have learned how to share and communicate better because we have to share a lot of stuff like our car,” Flowers said. “That’s hard to do.”

Plenty of citizens treat twins as if they are one person and unit. Everyone is different and should not be treated the same, including twins.

“When we were younger we were treated the same but as we got older, we started getting treated differently,” Anderson said. “More and more people started to see we had different interests so that’s a reason why they do not treat us as one anymore.”
