Freshman getting settled at BHS

After the first full week of school, the BHS class of 2020 freshmen are finally settling in and getting the hang of things around the school. The freshmen class is low in numbers but high in school spirit.

“I love high school so far. It’s so much different than junior high.” freshman Nikki Morgan said.

After being a little shy at the start of the year the freshman have made lots of new friends with the upperclassmen in their new home for the next four years.

“I have really gotten close with upperclassmen Riley O’Rourke, Kellee Wiggins and Kat Stan,” freshman Carly Fursman said.

The freshmen have lots of different personalities in their class. Many of the 2020 class members have gone out or joined extracurricular activities such as fall sports or clubs.

“It’s so great to see so many freshmen getting involved around school,” sophomore Isabel Tiller said. “It’s fun to get to know some of them.”

The freshmen have appreciated meeting upperclassmen. They have been mingling with every grade.

“It was pretty easy to meet the older kids in school because of football,” freshman Cayden Blake said, “I met a lot of the older kids before school started at practice and then when school started I met the rest of their friends.”

The back to school dance was a big hit for the freshmen. Many members of the 2020 class showed up.

“The dance was lit,” Blake said. “I loved the mosh pit the most.”

The freshman have a bright future in front of them. They need to keep working hard these next four years and they’ll do great things.

“They have been an energetic group and have done well with getting assignments turned in. They aren’t large in numbers but I think they will have an impact in the quality of what they bring to our school,” Biology teacher Drew Ising said.
