BHS musicians take their skill to the next level

They prepare for months and months for this one day. When they all compete and try there hardest to impress the judges. The day the band and choir travels to Olathe East to audition for district band and choir. On Nov. 15 many band and choir students competed a few being Genesis Barwick, Toby Vajnar and Megann Lawrenz.

Vajnar thought the competition had an intense atmosphere.

“It was tough, but worth it and it made me feel good going into it,” Vajnar said.

Barwick felt the before hand preparation paid off.

“I worked with a private instructor for three months once a week and got help from miss Nelson every day for the past week it was intense but made me feel confident,” Barwick said.

Brennan Fletcher, Libby Brungardt, Kymbr Simmons, Megann Lawrenz, were all successful with there band audition and Barwick was successful with her choir audition and gained a spot in the district choir.

“I’m so excited to go to district and to sing with 250 of the best singers and instructors,” Barwick said.
