Debate is defined as a discussion between two people in which they express different opinions about a topic. The Baldwin High School debate team, coached by Emily Thomas is going to competition on Saturday Nov. 15. There are 8 competitors from BHS going. The competitors are traveling to louisburg to compete against other league schools. The competitors have to develop an argument on a topic and provide evidence for that topic to go against another team to score points.

” I always hope they do better than they did the week before, they did good last week so I hope they make this weeks goal of wins” Thomas said

The topic in discussion is, The United States federal government should substantially increase its economic engagement toward Cuba, Mexico, or Venezuela. The debate team tries to go to competition every weekend.
