Performing Arts Center helps in many ways

Some kids have been performing all their life now they have a new building to help these students put on the best show possible.

The Performing Arts Center (PAC) has been helpful in many ways to the Baldwin City community.

“(We have used it for) BHS and BJHS vocal concerts, the fall musical and Baldwin Choral Festival,” music teacher Beth Nelson said.

Those are just the event Nelson has been involved in.

“Mostly district events (such as) concerts, assemblies, theater, and meeting but some community events as well (has been held in the PAC),” Nelson said.

What goes on behind the events is a big part in the PAC.

“The acoustics, the aesthetics, the technology, the space, the convenience. Such a big improvement over what we had before. Our students are allowed to really show what they can do,” Nelson said.

Students get to experience the building also.

“(I have used if for) acting class and the Shakespeare festival,” sophomore Ashleigh Kramps said.

Some students have used the PAC more than others.

“(I have used it for) the fall musical, spring play and choir concerts” junior Michaela Todd said.
