Another school year has started for Baldwin High School, which means new activities, new clubs and new ideas. Gay-straight Alliance (GSA) has many plans for the new year.
Senior Student Samuel Tuckfield is president of GSA this year. He explained what new plans are in store for GSA.
“Anti-Bullying week is something we’re definitely going to be a part of and the Day of Silence,” Tuckfield said.
Tuckfield feels being involved with GSA is very important.
“I’m a part of GSA because it’s human rights”, he said. ” I care a lot about how people feel and it’s their right. I’m a big human rights activist or I want to be, and I’m proud to put my name behind this group as president and I look forward to a good year”.
GSA Sponser Kathleen Sigvaldson explains what activities GSA has in mind for this school year.
“We talked about a Halloween party, T-shirts, and to get our guest speakers in this year”. Sigvaldson Said
Sigvaldson goes on to tell how she got involved with GSA.
“Well they asked me to and I’m always a person in favor of human rights”, she said.
Junior Harrison Feldt shares his opinion about Tuckfield being president.
“Sam is a great leader. He is my friend and I’m proud of him for standing up for this cause so strongly,” Feldt said.
