Baldwin hosts Frontier League StuCo

The seven teams of the Frontier League contend against each other in fall sports, winter sports, spring sports, and academic competitions. However, the schools collaborate at the annual Frontier League StuCo.

This year, Frontier League StuCo was on March 5, 2013, at Baldwin High School.

“In comparison to other years I thought it was a more collaborative effort,” BHS StuCo sponsor Danielle Balsman said.

Junior Jenna VonBargen agreed.

“I thought it was more productive than past years,” VonBargen said. “We were really enthusiastic.”

This year, every school from the Frontier League was in attendance, except De Soto.  Recent snow days caused the limited attendance.

Even with the snow days, there was a large amount of students collaborating in the PAC.

About halfway through the event, guest speaker Amy Wintermantel took center stage.  She discussed bullying and social media, among other topics, to the high schoolers.

“I learned not to be a twit on Twitter,” sophomore Joel Halford said, with a laugh.

This was Halford’s first Frontier League StuCo.

“It was better than I thought,” Halford said. “I thought it was going to be lame, but it was fun.”
