Super Bowl XLVII: Predictions from students

At 5:30 pm on Sunday, Feb. 3, the Baltimore Ravens will face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. At the helm of each team is a Harbaugh brother. John Harbaugh is the head coach of the Ravens and Jim Harbaugh is the head coach of the 49ers.

Junior Tucker Clark favors John Harbaugh.

“I want Baltimore (to win),” Clark said. “They are one of my favorite teams. I like their players and they have a good coach.”

Junior Colton Stark agrees.

“I like Ravens coach John Harbaugh,” said Stark. “I got Ravens 31-24.”

Ravens were a popular choice for several other BHS students.

“I’m hoping Ravens win,” junior Hunter Young said. “It would be cool for them to win on Ray Lewis’ final year.”

Another Ravens supporter is junior Ethan Hartzell.

“I’m saying the Ravens are going to win based off nothing,” Hartzell said.

Junior Quinn Twombly wants the Ravens to win as well.

“I think the Ravens are going to win,” Twombly said. “There D is too good and they are more motivated.”

However, Twombly likes the 49ers coach.

“I like Jim (better than John Harbaugh),” Twombly said.

A smaller sample of BHS students like the 49ers chances in the Super Bowl.

“I like the 49ers because I watch that conference,” junior Jenna VonBargen said. “I know that team better.”

Junior Andrew Simpson also thinks the 49ers will prove victorious.

“I’ve got the 49ers because they are better than the Ravens,” Simpson said.

Sunday night, at approximately 9-10 p.m., after the four 15 minute quarters have been played, the winner of Super Bowl XLVII will be crowned, and the students will know if their predictions were correct.
