Band, Pommers back from trip of lifetime

On Jan. 20, the BHS band and pom teams arrived back from their trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, where they performed live along with other bands. While in the magical kingdom the students were able to get away from practicing and enjoy some free time in the famous theme park.

“Oh we had tons of free time! We got to see all the parks and even spend extra time in the mornings and nights in which to spend however we wished,” junior Brenna Johnson

Johnson had a lot to say on the bands performance.

“The performance was the most fun I’ve ever had performing,” Johnson said. “It’s a bit surreal, playing for that many people and just knowing its Disney World, it just makes it that much better. It really is the most magical place on earth, and that performance really made it for me. I’ll never forget how it felt to march towards that beautiful castle playing with a group of my closest friends. It was perfect.”

Since the return of the group there has been a lot of buzz about the speech band director Will Cooper gave.

“I thought it was hilarious when Mr. Cooper announced that Belle was hot in front of 10,000 people,” senior Cate Gwin said.

Junior Katelyn Johnson enjoyed the trip and the amazing weather that came along with it.

“The weather was better than it its here,” she said. “Most the time it was cloudy but the last day was sunny 72-84 degrees. “

All around the Disney trip was the trip of a lifetime for many of those who went. They got to pursue something they love and spend time with some close friends.
