Making it annual event, the “BHS For Vets” program will again be a feature at a football this season.

On Friday, Oct. 12, the BHS Patriots Club will be hosting BHS for Vets at the game against Ottawa. This is the third year of the event. The halftime ceremony will consist of a patriotic performance from the band, guest speaker from Fort Leavenworth, and a firework show to help honor the local veterans.

“It is really rewarding to help give back to the heros that have given us the freedoms we enjoy,” senior Patriot’s Club President Clay Thomas said.

The Patriot’s Club was inspired  to put on an event again after a Vietnam veteran approached the committee after the 2010 event, be sure to invite any family or friends that have served our country.
