Humans of BHS: Max Truong

“When I was small, I watched a lot of American films and I wished to be in America someday, and the chance came and I decided to take it. The thing I most miss is the food in my country. I also miss my family, but they’re hoping I can get them here. They want me to set up my life here and start to live here. I talk to them once a week, or once every two weeks. The hardest adjustment has been the way I talk to people and trying to get into the way that people talk. I am trying to use the slang they use so I can understand and talk to them more. Everything here is awesome. Managing volleyball is fun. It is a fun thing to write stats and the thing that will be the most unforgettable is when I watch them gather for victory or after the point. I feel like a father watching my kids. I have been to football games like Da Bash and dances like Homecoming. I really enjoyed them, I don’t have such things in my country.”
