“I became a wrestling manager my sophomore year. I was in Mr. Harris’ English class and he suggested I try it and see if I enjoyed it. I am grateful for the friendships I have been able to form with my fellow managers and even the wrestlers. My favorite part about wrestling is when we have a really intense match and you look over at our team bench and the boys are all on their feet cheering on their teammate, yelling out moves to help get the pin or reversal. You get the real sense of brotherhood that Harris encourages them to form. The team does a great job of including the managers in on that. It’s a great program to be a part of and I’m grateful for all of the experiences I’ve had being a manager. I have always liked photography, but never really got into it myself until my sophomore year. It was an assignment I was given as a manager at one of our wrestling tournaments. It came pretty easy to me and I began to enjoy it and working hard to get the best pictures I could with the settings I was given. I really enjoy being able to provide snapshots of memorable moments for someone in high school for them to look back and be able to reminisce on. I also enjoy getting pictures of my peers in their element when they are truly being themselves.
