“Domestically, I have been to many of the popular tourist towns like New York, San Diego, Los Angeles, Denver, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, and Chicago. Internationally, the countries I have been to include: Iceland (twice), England, Scotland, Spain, Norway, Japan, Costa Rica, and most recently Peru. For my next trip, I have been thinking about going on a cruise, but my next big trip is tentatively planned for Germany and Switzerland in the summer of 2028. As for monuments, I have seen some famous monuments, but I really enjoy other aspects of travel more than seeking out the most popular monuments or attractions. One place I visited with historical significance for the United States that really impacted me emotionally is Hiroshima, Japan. We visited Peace Park, where the first atomic bomb was dropped. That said, I have had several places that I have visited that have such significance that they were very meaningful to visit. In Japan, we met an older gentleman on a train. He was very curious about our tattoos. In Japan’s culture, although it has begun to change, tattoos are thought to be something that thugs and criminals have. I think he stood out to me because he was just wanting to learn about us as well as explain some of his culture.”
