Keira Barker is a senior and has been attending Baldwin schools from Pre-K to 1st grade and from 6th grade to being a senior.
“After high school, I plan on finding a job to help me figure out if I need or want to go to college, almost like taking a gap year to decide,” Barker said.
I asked Barker, “knowing what you do now, what advice would you give your freshmen self?” Barker said she would tell her younger self to get out and do things like attending sports games or trying a new sport. Barker’s favorite memory of high school is going to the parking lot after football games and hanging out with friends.
“High school has taught me to enjoy the little moments, because before you realize it, you are a senior about to graduate,” Barker said.
Barker has been involved in track, softball, basketball, boys basketball manager, and flag football.
Caylee Tannahill is the culinary teacher at BHS. Barker says Mrs.Tannahill is her favorite teacher and has taught so much.
“It has been such a joy having Keira the past few years in culinary,” Tannahill said. “I have loved getting to see her develop her culinary skills. Keira has such a kind and positive attitude she is always quick to help if someone needs help and brightens any class she is in.”
“High school goes by fast so enjoy it while it lasts,” Barker said.
