Becky Weaver is a teacher here at BHS. She teaches art and also runs art club as well as the Avant. 

Q: Why did you want to start teaching? 

“After college I got a job tutoring JH kids that I really enjoyed. That sparked my interest in working with students and led to me getting my BFA in art education.” 

Q: How long have you been teaching? 

“This is my 14th year teaching and my 10th year at Baldwin High School.”

Q: What would you do if you didn’t teach?

“Be a food and travel blogger.”

Q: What advice would you give to your students?

“Try hard things, get out of your comfort zone.”

Q: What got you into art? 

“Art is just something I’ve always really liked. For as long as I can remember, I’ve enjoyed making art, looking at art, and learning about art making methods.”

Q: If you were to teach something other than art, what do you think you would teach? 

“In college I double majored in art and marking so I guess I’d go with marketing OR a foreign language since I love traveling.”
